What would the world look like if businesses prioritized making the world a better place?  Today, less than 10% of venture capital supports companies that produce sustainable goods and innovations. It’s called Social Entrepreneurship“, “Social Enterprise”, or “Sustainable Business”.

I’m committed to raising awareness, increasing the flow of capital, and accelerating the success of such ventures.

Currently I’m working on a couple of projects, both of which focus on this area of business.

IDE - International Development Enterprises – a social and sustainable enterprise that creates income opportunities for rural poor farmers.  Founded by Paul Polak 25 years ago, IDE has helped 19 MILLION – yes 19 million- people out of poverty. Paul recently published a widely acclaimed book, “Out of Poverty.” Currently led by CEO Al Doerksen, IDE will be emerging in the spotlight this year as a major legacy social enterprise among the massive growth in this sector in Colorado.  I’m heading the Investor Relations department and will be working to create communities of supporters and investors in Colorado, NYC, Boston, SF, and LA.  Expect a big emergence and public presence for IDE in 2010!

Lilith Impact Fund / I4C Campaign (launched by Touchpoint Trust Group) – The i4c Campaign™ is committed to growing innovative businesses that are dedicated to people and the planet in addition to profits. This is called the Triple Bottom Line.

Angel Capital Summit – I worked as the Marketing Chair for this Nov 17, 2009 dealmaking event for all Rocky Mountain states. The ACS helps entrepreneurs get funding, and helps investors find the perfect deals that they are passionate about. ACS also has a Virtual Conference leading up to the event, with educational webinars from experts in every marketing area. I worked with these Investor/Advisor partners and Associate Partners to co-produce the event and encourage their entrepreneurs to apply to present.
